The most important qualities of a commercial espresso machine are the durability of the machine’s parts and the ability of the machine to produce a high volume of espresso.

Commercial espresso machines (espresso coffee makers) typically utilize a rotary pump that uses vanes which oscillate rapidly within a sealed container to create high pressure for brewing espresso. Rotary pumps are also called Volumetric Pumps.
