T-Discs (Tassimo Coffee Pods)

What is a T-Disc Coffee Pod?

The T-disc is a patented coffee pod technology used in coffee makers and includes a barcode that tells the coffee maker how to best brew the particular coffee disc.

The unique bar code directs the brewing machine regarding the proper brewing time (30-60 seconds) and temperature as well as the amount of water to be used and also, for drinks requiring milk (e.g., hot chocolate, latte, cappuccino, cafe crema), the amount of milk (UHT milk) to be dispensed.

Manufacturers of T-Discs

Tassimo sells three models of single cup coffee makers that use T-Discs. Also see Braun; Tassimo; Gevalia; Bosch. See Coffee Companies.
